In-Person only
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health practice that involves applying pressure to areas on the soles and back of our feet and/or our palms and back of our hands. The pressure may be firm or gentle.
The application of pressure is precise and may feel uncomfortable at times. It will not feel like a massage.
Reflexology was introduced to the Western world just after the turn of the last century by nose/ear/throat specialist Dr. William Fitzgerald MD and one of his contemporaries, as zone-therapy. But it was Eunice Ingham, a nurse/physiotherapist who designed Reflexology in its current system and established it as the practice we know today. Doreen Baily was the pioneer who pioneered and established Reflexology in the UK.
The body’s systems, organs, circuitries are believed to be mapped out on our extremities, the hands and feet. By applying pressure to specific areas on our hands and feet, we allow the body, our organs, to receive the support to do its job.
With the goal of well-being, ease and healing kept firmly in focus, the client and practitioner are in constant dialogue during the session.
This dialogue provides a guide to how a session evolves and which specific areas of our health need attention at that moment.
Reflexology is an in-person therapy suitable for all ages. Each session will last around 45 minutes, at the start of which we will talk about your medical history - as there are some conditions where reflexology is counter-indicated.
You should expect to feel relaxed after a session. You may also feel some reactions post-session that stand out, like feeling very energised or super tired or even experiencing symptoms specific to what you sought to balance.
